This specimen was lot 259 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$815 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND | Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, Herzogtum, Karl I. 1735-1780. Taler 1779, Braunschweig. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. Feine Patina. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Charles I, 1735-80, thaler of 1779, Brunswick mint. Rare in this condition, Good extremely fine, Nicely toned, Extraordinary condition.)"
