This specimen was lot 72191 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $690. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1670-HS. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August. PCGS AU-50. Lightly worn upon the high points, this crown nevertheless offers a charming gunmetal gray and iridescent mix of toning along with a charming degree of originality. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1667-83 and is common. It is distinguished from the very similar Dav-6378 by having "DG" before the duke's name rather than after.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: Dav-6379; KM-502; Welter-1840.
