Künker sale 293, lot 514

This specimen was lot 514 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €3,700 (about US$4,987 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. Löser zu 1 1/2 Reichstalern 1655, Zellerfeld. Ohne Wertpunze. Preussag Collection (Auktion London Coin Galleries/Künker 1) 65 (dieses Exemplar). Vorzügliches Exemplar mit feiner Tönung. Exemplar der Preussag Collection, Part I. Auktion London Coin Galleries/Künker 1, London 2015, Nr. 65. (duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg and Brunswick Wolfenbuttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, 1½ thaler of 1655, Zellerfeld mint, without denomination punch. Extremely fine example with fine toning, from the Preussag Collection.)"

This issue comes with and without (Dav-LS73) the denomination punched in. A double thaler was issued on the same occasion (Dav-LS70).
