Künker sale 293, lot 448

This specimen was lot 448 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €360 (about US$485 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM Heinrich der Jüngere, 1514-1568. 1/2 Taler 1567, Goslar. R Min. bearbeitet, kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Henry the Younger, 1514-68, half thaler of 1567, Goslar mint. Scarce, some tooling, edge defects, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1557-68 and matches Dav-9051 in every respect.
