Taler, 1680-RB. Zellerfeld Mint. Ernst August, as Bishop of Osnabrück. PCGS AU-58. Ideal for the grade, this impressive broad Taler displays lovely iridescent multicolored tone on both sides and a superb strike that is especially evident on the wildman's face. The single finest graded by PCGS for the date, and worthy of a premium to most examples seen." Christian Ludwig was duke in Calenberg 1641-48 and in Celle 1648-65. His younger brother Georg Wilhelm was duke in Calenberg 1648-65 and in Celle 1665-1705. Johann Friedrich, the third brother, was duke in Calenberg 1665-79.
