This specimen was lot 5635 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €180 (about US$251 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Johann Friedrich, 1665-1679. 4 Mariengroschen 1668, Clausthal. 2.04 g. Welter 1788. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Kölner Münzkabinett 55, Köln 1992, Nr. 975. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg, John Frederick, 1665-79, four mariengroschen of 1668, Clausthal mint. Superb patina, extremely fine.)"
This type, with the leaping stallion reverse, was struck 1665-73. The same denomination was also struck with a wild man reverse (KM 108).
