This specimen was lot 5404 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$4,175 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-GRUBENHAGEN, Wolfgang, 1551-1595. 1/2 Reichstaler 1595, Osterode, auf seinen Tod am 14. Mai. Äußerst selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Slg. Erich Reichardt, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 49, Osnabrück 1999, Nr. 1404. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Grubenhagen, Wolfgang, 1551-95, half thaler of 1595, Osterode mint, on his death on May 14. Extremely rare, especially in this quality, choice example, superb patina, extremely fine.)"
Other half thalers for 1595 include MB 91 and MB 111. Brunswick-Grubenhagen fell extinct in 1596 and passed to Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.
