This specimen was lot 71165 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Shilling, 1927. London Mint. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. A sharply struck coin with dark brassy tone, and a few carbon spots on the obverse." This type was struck 1920-28, 1936 and is a slightly better date.

Recorded mintage: 22,248,000.
