Sincona sale 4, lot 4320

This specimen was lot 4320 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011) where it sold for 5,750 CHF (about US$7,649 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Brandenburg-Ansbach, Markgrafschaft Joachim Ernst, 1603-1625. Taler 1623. Geharnischtes Hüftbild mit Kommandostab halbrechts. Rv. Wappen auf verzierter Wappenkartusche. Hübsche Patina. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Joachim Ernest, 1603-25, thaler of 1623. Obverse: armored half figure with marshal's baton; reverse: quartered arms in cartouche. Nice patina, good extremely fine)."

Altho some issues of this principality of the 1620's are common, this one is rare.
