This specimen was lot 943 in Jean Elsen sale 164 (Brussels, March 2026), where it sold for €340 (about US$473 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Philippe IV (1621-1665), AR demi-ducaton, 1633, Anvers. Premier type. D/ B. cuirassé à d., une grande fraise au col. R/ Écu couronné, tenu par deux lions. En dessous, le bijou de la Toison d'or. Éclat du flan. Belle patine. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Philip IV, 1621-65, Antwerp mint, first type. Obverse: draped and armored bust right; reverse: two lions support large crowned royal arms, decorated with the Order of the Golden Fleece. Edge crack, Very Fine.)"

This type, issued 1628-37 from Antwerp (hand mintmark, shown here) and Brussels (angel face mintmark), is scarcer than the full ducaton. The other provinces issued this type, including Flanders and Tournai.
