Brabant 1614(a) 1/2 patard
This specimen was lot 931 in Jean Elsen sale 143 (Brussels, December 2019), where it sold for €160 (about US$209 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Albert et Isabelle (1598-1621), billon demi-patard, 1614, Bruxelles. D/ Croix avec le monogramme AE en coeur, dans un quadrilobe. R/ Armes des archiducs en plein champ. Rare. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Albert and Isabella, 1598-1621, billon half patard of 1614, Brussels mint. Obverse: Cross in quadrilobe with AE monogram at the center; reverse: arms of the archdukes in a plain field. Rare, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1614-19 at Antwerp, Brussels (shown here) and Bois-le-Duc. It accompanied a patard (KM 42).
