Jean Elsen sale 153, lot 1118

This specimen was lot 1118 in Jean Elsen sale 153 (Brussels, December 2022), where it sold for €90 (about US$114 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Albert et Isabelle (1598-1621), billon patard, 1615, Bruxelles. D/ Croix fleuronnée avec les initiales des archiducs en coeur, dans un quadrilobe. R/ Ecu couronné, accosté de la date. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Albert and Isabella, 1598-1621, billon patard of 1615, Brussels mint. Obverse: floriate cross with the archdukes' initials at the center, within a quadrilobe; reverse: crowned arms divide the date. Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1614-21 at Antwerp, Brussels (shown here) and Bois-le-Duc. Some come undated. It accompanied a demi-patard (KM 41).
