Bolivia 1854-PTS MJ 8 soles
This specimen was lot 1199 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $4,537.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA, Republic. 1825-present. AR 8 Soles. Potosí mint. Manuel Berrios and Joaquin Zemborain, assayers. Dated 1854 PTS MJ. In NGC encapsulation graded MS63. Superb evenly toned choice uncirculated. Beautiful even patina. By far the finest graded specimen, the only other graded is VF. Purchased from Louis Collins, April 1977." This type is listed for 1854-55. Unlike the minors, this denomination was not debased.
