This specimen was lot 786 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 4 reales, 1751 q/E, over-assayer on cross side, ex-Ponte. Choice full pillars and cross-lions-castles with two bold dates and last digit of third in legend, all three assayers with clear q/E to right of cross, clean q at bottom left on pillars side, and what looks like q/c at top right, richly toned XF+ with traces of surface porosity. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection." This type was struck for Philip V through his entire reign. Assayer "q" stamped coins 1744-59. The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.
