This specimen was lot 53725 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOHEMIA. Taler, 1623. Joachimsthal Mint. Ferdinand II. NGC EF-45. From the Augustana Collection. Ex: Ponterio 154 (6/2010) Lot # 8192." Ferdinand II, the Hapsburg emperor, issued several thalers from Bohemian mints in 1623, including KM 353, KM 354/Dav-3136 (Prague), KM 355/Dav-3143 (Kuttenberg) and KM 356 (shown here). This type was struck 1623-32 and is the most common of the four.
