Künker Auction 426, lot 3078

This specimen was lot 3078 in Künker Auction 426 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €10,500 (about US$14,868 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Matthias, 1608-1612-1619. 1/2 Reichstaler 1619 Kuttenberg. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, half thaler of 1619, Kuttenberg mint. Very scarce in this quality, handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

This type of 1613-19 is listed as much scarcer than the equivalent thalers from Kuttenberg (Dav-3071). Much of the minting effort likely went into the kipper issues.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver; this specimen is 14,59 g.

Catalog reference: KM 160 (listed under Bohemia), Dietiker 499; Halacka 532.
