Sincona sale 43, lot 3014

This specimen was lot 3014 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 450 CHF (aboout US$537 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Stände von Böhmen und Mähren, 1619-1620 Kipper-24 Kreuzer 1619. Kuttenberg. Vorzüglich. (Estates of Bohemia-Moravia, 1619-20, kipper 24 kreuzer of 1619, Kuttenberg mint. Extremely fine.)"

Kipper 24 kreuzer were struck at Kuttenberg, Prague (KM 226) and Joachimsthal (KM 228) for the Protestant Frederick V. Altho nominally a one-third thaler, it is too light and is probably debased as well, being an inflationary issue (1620-24) of the Thirty Years War.
