This specimen was lot 40606 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOHEMIA. Groschen, 1597. Kuttenberg Mint. Rudolph II. NGC F-15. From the Whytecliffe Collection." This type was struck at Kuttenberg in substantial quantities 1576-99 and has a low catalog value. Similar coins were struck at Joachimsthal (moon and star mintmark, KM MB254, struck 1578-95) and Budweis (dog's head mintmark, KM MB287, struck 1584-95 and undated). At this time, one thaler was 72 kreuzer or 24 groschen.
