This specimen was lot 1129 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $72. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bohemia. Maley Groschen, 1595 (W). Rudolf II, 1576-1612. Lion rampant. Reverse: Crowned R between trefoils. Pop 1; The only one graded at PCGS. Nicely toned. PCGS graded EF-40. The Augustana Collection." This type was struck for Rudolf 1577-1612 at Joachimsthal (KM MB241, rosette mintmark), Prague (KM MB240, trefoil mint), Budweis (KM MB242) and Kuttenberg (shown here). The mintmark on this example is below the lion. The Joachimsthal and Prague mints placed their mintmarks on the reverse. This coin was commemorated by the Czech Republic in 1995 (KM 20).
