This specimen was lot 52042 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "BIAFRA. 10 Pounds, 1969. PCGS PROOF-64 Cameo. Commemorating the second anniversary of independence. An exceptional near-Gem, this enthralling commemorative issue dazzles with a majestic cameo nature and olive-yellow hue throughout." The suppression of the Biafran revolt was carried out with the maximum destruction of property and life and the region is today part of Nigeria.
