This specimen was lot 1142 in Jean Elsen sale 136 (Brussels, March 2018), where it sold for €420 (about US$617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 2 centimes, 1848. Rare. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper two centimes of 1848. Rare, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1833-65 in large quantities but most dates before 1845 are scarce in nice condition.
Recorded mintage: 420,000, a rare date, tho not the key.
Specification: 3.6 g, copper.
