This specimen was lot 40018 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $2,702. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. 25 Francs, 1848. NGC MS-63." This scarce type was struck 1848-50. In 1865, Belgium resumed striking twenty francs and this denomination was abandoned.

Recorded mintage: 321,000.

Specification: 7.91 g, 0.900 fine gold.
