This specimen was lot 3397 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Bayern, Königreich, Otto, 1886-1913 5 Mark 1901 D. München. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. FDC. NGC MS 64. (kingdom of Bavaria, Otto, 1886-1913, five mark of 1901, Munich mint. Cabinet piece. Brilliant uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1891-1908 and is common. King Otto, traumatized by his combat experience in the Austro-Prussian war, ruled under a regency for his entire reign.
Recorded mintage: 295,371 plus proofs, a somewhat better date.
Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine, 38 mm diameter, this specimen 27.76 g.
