Bavaria 1839 2 thaler Dav-584
This specimen was lot 1234 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 725 CHF (about US$1,052 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, seit 1806 Königreich. Ludwig I. 1825-1848. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1839, München. NGC MS62. Feine Patina. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Louis I, 1825-48, double union thaler of 1839, Munich mint. Nicely toned.)"
This double thaler was struck 1839-41 and is fairly expensive tho not rare. Its face value of two thalers was equal to 3½ gulden. Bavaria joined the German Empire in 1871 and her coinage was reformed to use marks and pfennigs.
