Bavaria 1798 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3573 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €160 (about US$209 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Karl Theodor, 1777-1799. Kreuzer 1798, München. Ohne die Wertzahl I. Von großer Seltenheit. Min. justiert, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Heidelberger Münzhandlung, Herbert Grün 36, Heidelberg 2002, Nr. 6246. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Charles Theodore, 1777-99, kreuzer of 1798, Munich mint, without denomination. Very rare, light adjustment marks, extremely fine.)"
An extensive series of kreuzer is mentioned in the SCWC. The issue for 1798 should have the value at the bottom of the reverse (KM 620). This one does not, making it an unlisted date of the prior KM 628 of 1795-97.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 0.77 g, 0.187 fine silver, this specimen 0.67 g.
Catalog reference: KM 628 (unlisted date), Hahn -, vgl. 337; Witt. -, vgl. 2377.
