Bamberg 1800 1/2 thaler KM-149

This specimen was lot 3690 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$285 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Bamberg, Bistum Christoph Franz von Buseck, 1795-1802. ½ Taler 1800. Kleine Schrötlingsrisse. Gutes sehr schön. (bishopric of Bamberg, half thaler of 1800, minor rim flaws, good very fine.)"
The bishopric was secularized in 1801 and annexed to Bavaria in 1802. Another half thaler exists (KM-150) for 1800 with a different bust of the bishop.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
