Künker sale 264, lot 3561

This specimen was lot 3561 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BISTUM Christoph Franz von Buseck, 1795-1802. Dukat 1802, auf die Vereinigung des Bistums Bamberg mit Bayern, gewidmet von der Stadt Bamberg. GOLD. Vorzüglich. (bishopric of Bamberg, Christopher Francis of Buseck, 1795-1802, on the union of Bamberg with Bavaria. Extremely fine.)"

The bishopric was secularized in 1801 and annexed to Bavaria in 1802. This is the last coin issued from this locale.
