This specimen was lot 6059 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $399.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, 1853-A. NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines. Lustrous with light attractive toning. From the Mezo-Toth Kalman Collection." This intermediate type was struck 1852-56 and is scarcer than preceding (Dav-14, 28.06 g) and succeeding types (Dav-21, 18.52 g).

Specification: 25.99 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
