This specimen was lot 10 in Schulman auction 389 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,550 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria - Thaler 1781 A, Silver, JOSEPH II 1765-1790, ROMISCH DEUTSCHES REICH, HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE Vienna mint. Laureate head right. Rev. crowned double-headed eagle. Ex Cherry Tree Collection. PCGS AU Details, Cleaned." This type was struck 1781-90 but is rather scarce compared to the kronenthaler (Dav-1170) minted at the same time.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
