Sincona sale 11, lot 2347

This specimen was lot 2347 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,857 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH Leopold I. 1657-1705. Taler 1684, Graz. Zainende. Fast FDC. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1684, Graz mint. Choice uncirculated.)"

The type was struck 1671-78, 1682, 1684, 1687-88 and is reasonably available. Similar double thalers (Dav-A3232) exist.
