Künker sale 406, lot 4544

This specimen was lot 4544 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €700 (about US$919 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. Reichstaler 1674 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1672 geändert), IAN, Graz. Sehr schön +. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1674, Graz mint, 1674/2 overdate. Very fine or better.)"

This type was struck at Graz 1671-78, 1682, 1684, 1687-88 and is common. Overdates are common from this mint. The accompanying double thaler (Dav-A3232) appears from time to time.
