Australia 1991 5 dollars KM-138
This specimen was lot 3175 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 60 € (about US$78 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. 1991. Isabel II. 5 dólares. Kookaburra. AG. S/C [uncirculated]." This one ounce bullion coin is made and marketed to compete with the Canadian maple leaf, the US silver eagle, the Mexican libertad and other one ounce bullion coins. The reverse is usually changed every year altho this one is noted for 1990-91. In 1992, the one ounce kookaburra was changed from five dollars face value to one dollar. Some years have special privy marks which were only available at certain coin shows.
