This specimen was lot 33029 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 5 Dollars, 1992. Perth Mint. Elizabeth II. PCGS MS-64. A charming near-Gem Platinum issue, with nice contrast and an attractive appearance for the grade assigned." Other five dollar issues for 1992 include KM 165, KM 190 and KM 389. The auctioneers catalogued this as KM 191, an issue of 1993. In 1992, when this was coined, platinum was about $350/oz; it rose to $2,200/oz in 2008 but is today (July 2024) about $993/oz.
