Sincona sale 20, lot 2352

This specimen was lot 2352 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 3,200 (about US$4,010 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "[Augsburg.] Dukat 1634. Gutes sehr schön. (good very fine.)" This coin, like the related issues of Nuremberg and Erfurt, honored the Swedish king, regarded as the savior of Protestantism in Germany.
