This specimen was lot 30028 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. Rudolf II Taler ND (1603-1612) MS63 NGC, Ensisheim mint. Sheathed in a soft, silvery patina with a laudable lustrous quality expressed throughout the surfaces. Ex. Hesselgesser Collection (Goldberg Auction 44, Lot 4259). From the Cape Coral Collection of European Crowns." The SCWC notes this undated type for 1601 with dated issues (KM 246.2, Dav-3033) listed for 1603-08. It is not rare. The Ensisheim mint closed about 1632 when France occupied Alsace during the Thirty Years War.
