This specimen was lot 5015 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 475 CHF (about US$716 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Aargau, Halbbatzen 1808, Bern. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Aargau, half batzen of 1808. Bern mint. Rare in this condition, About Uncirculated.)"
This half batzen or two kreuzer was struck 1807-09, 1811 and 1815. A variety exists with crude dies for 1807 (KM 8.2). No coinage for Aargau exists prior to 1798, when it was admitted as a canton to the confederation.
