This specimen was lot 72260 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1891-Ga S. Guanajuato Mint. PCGS MS-66 Gold Shield. The only example of the date and mint in the PCGS census, this shimmering minor presents a great deal of alluring toning together with tremendous lustrous brilliance." This example is a product of the Guadalajara mint, not Guanajuato. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Alamos, Oaxaca and Potosi.

Recorded mintage: 50,000, a slightly better date.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.
