Künker sale 423, lot 41

This specimen was lot 41 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €480 (about US$680 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Erzherzog Ferdinand, 1564-1595. Zehner 1571, Mühlau/Hall. Geharnischtes Hüftbild r. mit Erzherzogshut, mit der Rechten das Zepter schulternd, die Linke am Schwertgriff//Mehrfeldiges Wappen (Ungarn, Böhmen / Kastilien und León / Österreich und Burgund), mit Mittelschild (Tirol), darüber die Jahreszahl · I57I ·. R Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 283, Frankfurt/Main 1973, Nr. 1809. (Holy Roman Empire, archduke Ferdinand, 1564-95, ten kreuzer of 1571, Hall mint. Obverse: capped and armored half-length bust right, holding a scepter and sword; reverse: manifold arms of Hungary, Bohemia, Castile, Leon, Austria and Burgundy with the escutcheon of Tyrol, date below. Rare, extremely fine.)"

This type was also struck at Hall 1566-67. Ten kreuzer was one fifth of a gulden or one sixth of a thaler.
