Bohemia 1571 guldenthaler Dav-44
This specimen was lot 1860 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,133 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maximilian II., 1564-1576. Guldentaler (60 Kreuzer) 1571, Kuttenberg. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian II, 1564-76, guldenthaler or sixty kreuzer of 1571, Kuttenberg mint. Very fine.)"
This type was struck 1560-64 at Vienna, Hall, Klagenfurt, Kuttenberg (shown here), Prague (KM MB160), Joachimsthal (KM MB173) and elsewhere. During this decade, the gulden and thaler diverged; the gulden remained sixty kreuzer while the thaler rose to 72 kreuzer.
