This specimen was lot 211 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €550 (about US$779 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Franz II., 1792-1804. Kronentaler 1796 F, Hall. Büste r. mit Lorbeerkranz, darunter die Münzstättensignatur F//Burgundisches Kreuz mit angehängtem Orden vom Goldenen Vlies, oben die Kaiserkrone, zu den Seiten die ungarische sowie die böhmische Königskrone. RR Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Heinz Friedrichs 13, Wiesbaden 1977, Nr. 139. (Holy Roman Empire, Francis II, 1792-1804, crown thaler of 1796, Hall mint. Obverse: laureate bust right, mintmark below; reverse: Burgundian crown supports the jewel of the Golden Fleece, imperial crown above, Hungarian and Bohemian crowns at the sides. Very rare, about extremely fine.)"

Altho the couronne or kronenthaler is often filed under the Austrian Netherlands, it was struck all over the Hapsburg dominions with the following mintmarks:

This type was struck 1792-1801 but no mint struck them every year. This is a scarce date.

Specification: 29.44 g, 0.873 fine silver, 39 mm diameter, lettered edge, engraved by Théodore Van Berckel; this specimen 29,53 g.
