from the Stack's Bowers 2020 NYINC sale, lot 22252

This specimen was lot 22252 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, 1680. Hall Mint. Leopold I. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield. Impressively detailed with moderate tone that ranges from gray to olive in hue." This type was struck 1679-83 and 1686 and is common.
