Sincona sale 23, lot 2974

This specimen was lot 2974 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$440 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH, Rudolf II. 1576-1612 Taler 1603. Hall Vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II (1576-1612), thaler of 1603, Hall mint, extremely fine.)"

This particular type is listed for 1602-05 and closely related types with the portrait of Rudolf II were struck at Hall, Vienna and Graz until his death in 1612. For 1603, these types included Dav-3002.
