This specimen was lot 228 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 3,000 € (about US$3,919 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1735. Felipe V. Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino. (M). 1 escudo. Lions and castles. Visible part of the name and ordinal of the king. Very rare in this condition. EBC [extremely fine]." This type was struck at Bogotá in Colombia 1713-46 but few examples show dates. Numista lists 1713, 1715, 1722, 1728, 1732, 1735 (shown here), 1740 and 1744 and others exist.
