Sincona sale 86, lot 1836

This specimen was lot 1836 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 8,500 CHF (about US$11,446 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof 500 Pounds 2017, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Gold. the Queen's Beasts: The Lion of England. Very rare. Only 100 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 24 of 100 limited edition presentation sets."

Other 500 pounds for 2017 include KM 1482 (year of the rooster), KM 1483 (year of the rooster), KM 1484 (unicorn of Scotland, silver), KM 1485 (unicorn of Scotland, gold), KM 1488 (lion of England, silver), KM 1490 (platinum wedding anniversary), KM 1491 (sapphire jubilee) and KM 1523 (5 oz gold Britannia).
