Sincona sale 78, lot 501

This specimen was lot 501 in Sincona sale 78 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$420 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Nicholas I. 1825-1855, 2 Kopecks 1851, Ekaterinburg Mint, EM. Extremely fine." This type was struck at Warsaw, St. Petersburg and Ekaterinburg 1850-59. It is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 8,356,000.

Specification: copper. This specimen is 10.05 g.
