Sincona sale 84, lot 444

This specimen was lot 444 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$202 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 5 Kopecks 1872, Ekaterinburg Mint, EM. Extremely fine."

This type was struck 1867-76 at Ekaterinburg and is the last issue of this denomination from this mint, which closed in 1876. This is the most common date.

Recorded mintage: 11,890,000.
