Goldberg sale 103, lot 3139

This specimen was lot 3139 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $446.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Straits Settlements. Cent, 1903. Edward VII. Attractive mint state example. NGC graded MS-64 Red & Brown." The type was struck in 1903-08 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and is scarce in nice condition despite the large mintage.

Recorded mintage: 7,053,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 9.3 g, bronze, 29 mm diameter, reeded edge.
