The first specimen was lot 10049 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,560 (about US$1,626). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1536. Aarhus Mint. Christian III. NGC MS-62. A breathtakingly well-preserved Mint State example. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The second specimen was lot 10050 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €288 (about US$300). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1536. Copenhagen Mint. Christian III. NGC EF-45. Attractive, dark toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex. Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922)." The third specimen was lot 10052 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$250). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1536. Ribe Mint. Christian III. NGC AU-50. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." At this time one gulden was 48 skilling; the specie daler would appear until later.
