Goldberg sale 116, part of lot 1170

This specimen was lot 1170 in Goldberg sale 116 (Los Angeles, June 2020), where it sold for $870. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Israel. 10 Sheqalim, 1984. Brotherhood. Menorah above value. Reverse; Kinsmen. Choice Brilliant Proof." This type was accompanied by a silver 2 sheqalim (KM 145) and silver sheqel (KM 135), which were probably sold in sets. The coinage was reformed in 1985-86, with 1,000 sheqalim = one new sheqalim.

Recorded mintage: 3,798 proofs, Ottawa mint.

Specification: 17.28 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW, 30 mm diameter.
