This type was struck in 1909 at Paris, France. Other dates, such as 1901 and 1936, were struck at Paris. Uruguayan coinage was sporadic in the early twentieth century and many issues are rare; this one is somewhat common. There are similar two and five centésimos (KM 20, KM 21).

Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 20 mm diameter.
